Discover Navi Mumbai beyond the city plan—walk to a hill, climb a watchtower, follow a river, or create with eco-friendly materials. This region isn’t just new; it’s an ancient land shaped by volcanoes, with basalt ridges that tell a fiery geological story.
Explore hidden gems like the Seawoods mangrove boardwalk, Talawe wetlands, Gavli Dev’s forested trails, Kharghar’s waterfalls, and Nerul’s holding ponds. From birdwatching to rock-hunting, every spot offers something to learn, feel, and enjoy.
Designed for all ages—children, parents, teachers, grandparents—this is place-based learning in action. Step outside. The land is your classroom.
2-Day Workshops
Not your usual classroom. Not your usual city.
What if your child could explore volcanos hidden in city hills, trace their drinking water to a faraway dam, walk through Asia’s largest market, and rethink how waste can be turned into gold—all while discovering how a city truly works?
Welcome to the Navi Mumbai Explorers Programme—a bold, hands-on urban learning journey where children become geologists, planners, designers, water detectives, and citizen storytellers. From the ancient lava flows of the Parsik Hills to the planned grids of CIDCO, from stormwater drains to local heroes, this programme unlocks the stories, systems, and secrets of Navi Mumbai—through field visits, internships, games, and problem-solving challenges.
🌱 Because the best way to understand the future… is to explore your own backyard first.

Urban Excursions

Wilderness, Farming and Gardens
Green Valley Park in Belapur was a lively nature walk through one of Navi Mumbai’s most vibrant green spaces. Children explored the butterfly garden filled with native plants like Calotropis and pencil cactus, spotted birds like Magpie Robins and Sunbirds, and discovered flying seeds and dry pods along the trails.
A favourite moment was learning about fig trees and their tiny wasp guests through a fun comic strip. With curious eyes and open minds, the children turned every leaf, pod, and fluttering wing into a chance to learn and wonder.
Colours in Our Markets!!!

Natural Holi Colours
At Local Gyan, we believe in learning with impact. Your participation fee supports the donation of natural Holi colours to an orphanage in Kharghar—making every celebration meaningful.
We handpick pigment-rich vegetables from local markets—beetroot, turmeric, spinach, marigold—and knead them together to craft soft, skin-safe colours. It’s our way of keeping Holi natural, joyful, and rooted in community.
